Season's Greetings from Sunrise

image

When we think of the gifts this special season brings, none can compare to sharing the belief in the sacred value of human life.  At Sunrise, we celebrate this gift not only during this holiday season, but every day.

We know that the holidays are a time of celebration and excitement -- but we also understand that many seniors and their family members find the season difficult despite their best intentions. For caregiver family members the holidays can bring a host of additional obligations to squeeze into an already busy schedule. And for some seniors, the holidays can be an emotionally challenging time of year. In this issue of Sunrise Connection, we offer specific suggestions that can help caregivers and seniors enjoy the holiday season.

Some key events of the past few months have also inspired us to include two articles on issues that you may want to consider when deciding on your resolutions for the new year. The controversy over the Terri Schiavo case highlights the need for every person -- seniors and their caregivers alike -- to draw up effective living wills. And Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma have only underscored the need to create an emergency preparedness plan for your loved one.

For nearly 25 years, Sunrise has worked with thousands of families to address the challenges and capture the joys of aging -- and we would like to share our
experiences with you. For advice and inspiration this holiday season, we encourage you to give the Sunrise community near you a call. You can be sure that we would be happy to have you visit to celebrate the season together.
